Welcome to day one of Harry Potter Week!
In case you weren’t aware, this week I’ll be counting down the seven days until the 21st anniversary of HP’s publication with one Potter-related post each day. More information is here! Anyone is free to join!!
Day One is the good old Hogwarts Tag. Unfortunately, I can’t find the original poster, but if you happen to know who it is, please let me know!
1. What house are you in?
Ravenclaw! Where those of wit and learning will always find their kind! I’ll be best friends with Luna Lovegood and Cho Chang and it’ll be amazing.
(Oh also, my Ilvermorny house is Thunderbird, so I’m a bird bird.)
2. What is your patronus?
An eagle! So…Ravenclaw, Thunderbird, eagle – triple bird!! Caw caw.
3. What is your wand?
Larch wood with phoenix feather, 14 1/2 inches, surprisingly swishy.
4. What would your boggart be?
Same as Ron…………… yikes.
5. What position would you play in Quidditch?
I’ve always liked the idea of playing chaser! Don’t entirely know why, but I think it would be cool to score goals. (That’s what I loved doing when I played soccer!)
6. Would you be a pure blood, half blood or muggle born?
If it’s based on whether my parents like Harry Potter, then I’m a pure blood. (But like…barely.)
7. What job would you want after to have after graduating Hogwarts?
I would give anything to work at Flourish and Blotts. Can you imagine???
I also lowkey want to become the History of Magic professor at Hogwarts because Binns is terrible and I think it could be such a cool and interesting subject if it were taught well.
8. Which of the Deathly Hallows would you choose?
Uh, the Invisibility Cloak, obviously. Wasn’t this a whole conversation in the book?
9. Favourite book?
I love Order of the Phoenix a whole lot.
10. Least favourite book?
Listen I love all of the books, but I’d say Chamber of Secrets is the one I feel the least compelled to reread over and over again.
11. Favourite film?
Uggghhhhh this is so hard because I definitely have problems with all of the films. But I have the best memories attached to Deathly Hallows part 2, so I’ll go with that.
12. Least favourite film?
Probably Order of the Phoenix because it’s my favorite book and the movie guts out the life and soul of it. Not that I’m bitter or anything.
13. Favourite character?
HOW COULD YOU ASK ME THIS I LOVE ALL OF MY CHILDREN.
Okay, if we’re going to go beyond the golden trio (all of whom I love with my whole heart), I can perhaps narrow my faves down to Ginny Weasley and Remus Lupin.
14. Least favourite/most hated character?
He’s the worst.
15. Favourite teacher at Hogwarts?
McGonagall, obviously! Even though I would probably be at least a little scared of her, I would also love her. And she’s one of the only teachers at Hogwarts that’s actually good.
16. Least favorite teacher at Hogwarts?
Tempted to say Snape again, but again, I get so frustrated by the fact that Professor Binns is still allowed to teach at Hogwarts.
17. Do you have any unpopular opinions about the series?
UM a few. Probably the most widely debated is the fact that I really hate Snape and I’m bitter that Harry named a kid after him. Also, I don’t hate The Cursed Child which is a pretty unpopular opinion, apparently. But the movies are kinda not great.
18. If you could save one character from the finale battle who would you save?
I can’t answer this oh noooooooo.
OKAY FINE I’LL SAVE FRED but only because I can’t save both Lupin and Tonks. But I still love them and I can’t think about their deaths without wanting to tear my heart out of my chest.
What does your dream life at Hogwarts look like? What are your controversial opinions? Remember, it’s not too late to join in for the rest of HP Week!
